The Duke of Edinburgh's (DofE) Award is renowned for being one of the most prestigious volunteer and activity based schemes the world has to offer.

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh founded The Duke of Edinburgh's Award in 1956 and remains Patron.

The DofE programmes are for anyone aged between 14 and 24. There are three levels of programmes and once completed, lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.  The main differences between them are the minimum length of time it takes to complete them, how challenging it is and the minimum age you can start. Employers worldwide recognise the Award.

Ridgewall has worked with The Duke of Edinburgh's Award for 11 years. Originally the DoE organisation was locked in to contracts that had very little flexibility with a supplier that was not interested in offering a hands on personal approach. Ridgewall, however, provides a service that has enabled the organisation to grow, with over 300,000 participants in 2013 alone. The relationship between Ridgewall and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award has grown stronger over the last 11 years with Ridgewall contributing charitable donations in excess of £300,000.

With over 12,500 DofE centres in the UK, an increase of 8.5% on last year and 12 regional offices, Ridgewall has supplied and managed its IP telephony systems, and managed print solutions nationwide. The result is organisation now has complete confidence in its IT infrastructure. Ridgewall provides 24hr x 365 day a year support providing the organisation with the a service that its users require. The SLA includes a 2 hour on site call out and a 4 hour guarantee fix across all sites.

It was imperative that the solutions could evolve over the years to ensure the best possible return on investment. With this in mind for telecommunications Avaya was the chosen technology, which we see as a best of breed manufacture in the market. And for the managed print solution both canon and Kyocera multifunction devices were implemented. In recent years feature rich software has been integrated enabling Follow Me Print throughout the sites which  is a major benefit for any employee travelling, this has also reduced dramatically the number of wasted prints and copies and has saved considerable cost both financial and environmental.
