Hotel Indigo Bath to open with Ridgewall IT and Unified Communications solutions

The Hotel Indigo Bath is to open its doors later this month, with the reassurance of Converged IT and Unified Communications systems from Ridgewall.

Just as no two neighbourhoods are alike, no two Hotel Indigo properties are the same. Each is designed to uniquely reflect the local culture, character and history of the surrounding area. Hotel Indigo aim to create a memorable experience by combining the modern design and intimate service associated with a boutique hotel, with the conveniences and consistencies guests expect from staying at one of the world’s largest hotel groups, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).

The Hotel Indigo Bath is set in a beautiful Georgian Terrace. Grade one listed, the boutique hotel is steeped in history and sits in the peaceful street of South Parade, just steps away from the centre of Bath. The 166 bedrooms are contemporary with a traditional twist, reflecting the age and style of the 18th century Georgian building but also catering for modern tastes.

St James Hotels commissioned Ridgewall subsidiary company, QDOS-sbl to provide a Converged IT and Telecoms platform to meet the brand standards of  IHG and the requirements of a leading boutique hotel. The solution provided was deployed on time to meet operational requirements, with cost-effective one off capital costs and low ongoing operating costs.

A Mitel MiVoice 3300 MXe Hospitality Telephone System was installed to provide a scalable, reliable communications platform in order to offer guests a faster, more personalised service, incorporating small gestures that make a big difference, like remembering guest names and preferences and providing timely service whilst protecting their privacy at all times by integrating with the innovative Amadeus, Property Management System (PMS).

HP servers were configured using Hyper V technology software on which multiple virtual machines run, increasing IT agility, flexibility and scalability while making IT simpler to manage and less costly to own and operate. In addition, a range of HP laptops and PC’s were provided to meet the needs of the front desk and back of house teams. Sophos Intercept X was installed to provide the industry’s most comprehensive endpoint protection, built to stop the widest range of cyber threats. In addition, the Microsoft 365 Business subscription service includes access to Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and online productivity services, as well as business services such as web conferencing and hosted email, The biggest advantage of Microsoft 365 is the ability for the hotel team to work from anywhere as long as they have an internet connection. Being entirely cloud-based, they can access email, files and applications like OneDrive, a file hosting service and synchronisation service and SharePoint, a document management and storage system.

Cloud-based Datto Remote Monitoring and Management tools were deployed enabling the Ridgewall technical team to deliver IT and Telecoms managed services by using a system that empowers them to focus on what matters most – delivering better service, faster on a 24/7 basis.

Simon Catterick, Chief Commercial Officer of Ridgewall said “having now delivered a blend of Converged IT and Telecoms systems to over 150 IHG centrally managed and franchised hotels across the UK, North America and Europe, we are delighted to work with St James Hotels again, having delivered a similar solution for their boutique property, Hotel Indigo Stratford-upon-Avon too. As with that hotel we’re sure that this stunning property will be a great success too”.
